How to Install IPTV on a Firestick (Fire TV Stick)

What you need before you start

• A Fire TV that runs Fire OS: Fire TV Stick 4K Plus, 4K Max, Fire TV Cube or an older stick (see the check below).
• Your IPTV Nord login from the welcome email: server URL, username and password. No login yet? Ask for the free 24-hour trial and test on your own TV first.
• Internet of at least 10 Mbps for Full HD, or 25 Mbps for 4K channels.
• Your Amazon account signed in on the stick, so you can get Downloader from the Amazon Appstore.

How to install IPTV on Amazon Fire TV Stick

1. Turn on Developer Options

   From the home screen, open Settings > My Fire TV > About. Highlight the first line, your device name (for example Fire TV Stick 4K Max), and press select 7 times until a message confirms you are a developer. Press Back: Developer Options now shows under My Fire TV.

2. Install the Downloader app from the Amazon Appstore

   Press Home, open Find (the magnifying glass) and type Downloader. Pick the orange Downloader app by AFTVnews and select Get or Download. It is free.

3. Allow Downloader to install apps

   Go to Settings > My Fire TV > Developer Options > Install unknown apps and switch Downloader to ON. Older sticks show one switch called Apps from Unknown Sources instead: turn it on.

4. Download TiviMate with its official code

   Open Downloader. If it asks for access to your files, choose Allow. Select the address box on the Home tab, type 272483 (the short code the TiviMate developer shares) and press Go. Never type codes from random websites or videos: they can point to anything.

5. Install TiviMate and delete the installer

   When the install screen opens, select Install, then Done. Downloader then offers to delete the file you just downloaded. Choose Delete twice. A Firestick has little storage to spare.

6. Sign in with your Xtream Codes login

   Press and hold Home, choose Apps and open TiviMate. Select Add playlist, then Xtream Codes. Type the server URL exactly as it appears in our email, including http:// and the port number if there is one. Then enter your username and password. Capital letters matter. Select Next.

   Only have an M3U link? Choose M3U playlist instead and paste the full link. Xtream Codes is the better choice because the TV guide and the movie library load by themselves.

7. Let the channels and TV guide load

   TiviMate shows how many channels, movies and series it found. Select Next, name the playlist (IPTV Nord works), then Done. The TV guide (EPG) fills in over a minute or two. If the counts show zero, a letter in the login is wrong: go back and check each field.

8. Test a channel and move TiviMate to the front

   Open a Canadian news channel, then a 4K channel, to check the picture. To reach TiviMate faster next time, highlight it in your apps list, press the menu button (three lines) and choose Move to front.

What if my Firestick runs Vega OS?

A Vega OS stick cannot install TiviMate, Downloader downloads or any other Android app file. Amazon built Vega OS for the Fire TV Stick 4K Select (2025) and the Fire TV Stick HD sold from 2026. These models only accept apps from the Amazon Appstore.

You still have good options:

• Ask us first. Found an IPTV player in the Amazon Appstore on your stick? Send us its name in Live Chat before you pay its maker anything, and we will tell you if it accepts our login.
• Use your TV's own app. Most Smart TVs can run IPTV without a stick. See the Samsung Smart TV guide or the LG Smart TV guide.
• Pick a different streamer. A Fire TV Stick 4K Plus, 4K Max or Fire TV Cube still runs Fire OS. A Google TV device installs TiviMate straight from Google Play, as shown in our Android TV and Google TV guide.

Best settings for smooth IPTV on a Fire TV Stick

A wired connection and a weekly restart solve most picture problems. These are the settings we check first:

• Use Ethernet if you can. Amazon sells an Ethernet adapter for Fire TV sticks, and the Fire TV Cube (3rd generation) has a port built in. On Wi-Fi, use the 5 GHz network and the HDMI extender from the box.
• Raise the buffer in TiviMate. If one channel stutters, open TiviMate's settings, go to Playback and set the buffer size one step higher.
• Restart once a week. Settings > My Fire TV > Restart clears memory that builds up after days of streaming.
• Clear the cache when TiviMate slows down. Settings > Applications > Manage Installed Applications > TiviMate > Clear cache. Your login and favourites stay.

Fix common Firestick IPTV problems

Do you need TiviMate Premium on a Firestick?

No. Free TiviMate plays live channels with the TV guide, which is enough for many viewers. Premium is an optional upgrade sold by the TiviMate developer, not by IPTV Nord. It adds catch-up, recording, multiview and extra playlists.

A Fire TV has no Google Play, so Premium is bought with the TiviMate Companion app on an Android phone, then turned on inside TiviMate with the same account. The developer sets the price. Our TiviMate guide explains each Premium feature.

Other apps: VLC for Fire, from VideoLAN, is in the Amazon Appstore and plays our M3U link, but it shows a plain channel list with no TV guide. IPTV Smarters Pro is not in the Amazon Appstore, and we do not recommend copies from unofficial websites.
